Stages for Immediate Implants
The immediate implant step applies when you still have an existing tooth that needs extraction. In immediate implant protocols, the poor prognoses tooth is removed and the implant post is placed during the same surgical visit. Therefore stage 1 and 2 is done together. If already have a missing gap, one day implant or same day implant does not apply to you because stage 1 is skipped.
Stage 1

Implant Site Preparation
- Tooth extraction
- Bone grafting
Stage 2

Implant Post Surgical Insertion
Stage 1

Prosthetics Placed On Implant Post
- crowns
- bridge
- hybrid bridge
- dentures
Having immediate implants does not necessarily mean that your treatment procedure is completed in one go. Whether prosthetics on implant (stage 3) may be done during the same period is dependent if an immediate-load implant is advisable for your case. If otherwise, after stage 2, the implant post is left to heal or osseo-integrate for about 2 to 6 months before stage 3 is started as done in conventional implant protocols.
Due to dental implant material, techniques and developments, the completion time for one day implants has now been cut short from more than 8 months to just 2 months.
